What it does and how it connects

MecAgent is its own desktop app that connects to the CAD software already in use and acts inside the open model. It is not a CAD program itself and it does not replace the host CAD session. It works in two modes: a CAD Agent that works live in the open session, and Background CAD Tasks that take on longer jobs while the engineer keeps modelling, including drawings from CAD and CAD from drawings, text, or STEP files.

Inside the live session, the agent models parts from text or STEP files, adds parts to assemblies, applies materials and equations, renames items, exports, and writes macros directly into the feature tree. The homepage describes the output as parts, assemblies, and drawings generated from text or a spec sheet. The site also states that MecAgent is an independent tool, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a partner of SOLIDWORKS, and that any reference to SOLIDWORKS is for informational purposes only.
