In the emulator, a 2nd-stage bootloader flash write at or above 8 MiB returns ESP_OK and changes nothing, while below 8 MiB it works, and a custom bootloader's one-shot boot-request clear was lost, so the request still read as pending and every reset relaunched the requested app, while the log showed the readback disagreeing with what was written.
