What it does and how it connects
This is a small Rust MCP server that drives a running KiCad 10 PCB editor from Cursor over KiCad's official IPC API. KiCad stays the source of truth: every change is undoable with Ctrl+Z, and nothing is saved unless the user asks. It is aimed at students, hobbyists, and makers on Debian or Ubuntu.
The workflow in the README runs from board outline through LCSC part download by C-number, placement, ratsnest nets, pin checks that force every pin to be netted or explicitly allowed open, copper tracks and pours, DRC and connectivity checks, and finally a JLCPCB manufacturing zip with BOM and pick and place files. An optional autorouter package is available as a separate install.
The proof case in the README is a 109 LED, 4 layer replacement panel for a Beseler enlarger, designed this way from outline to ordered Gerbers and manufactured by JLCPCB. The README is explicit about who should skip it: Altium users, Windows only users, and anyone who does not want an assistant in the editor.
