What it does and how it connects
tscircuit is a TSX framework for designing circuit boards in code with TypeScript and React. You compose boards from components with props, children, and hooks, the same way you compose UI, and every save re-renders the schematic, PCB, and 3D view in the browser, with no toolchain to install for the web workflow.
It is built for AI-assisted design: any agent can be told to use tscircuit, and an AI coding skill covers the CLI, syntax, workflow, and pre-fab context for Claude Code, Codex, and custom agents. Boards compile to Circuit JSON, an intermediate format, and the platform includes real-time autorouting, analog simulation backed by WebAssembly ngspice, automatic part selection with a generated BOM, and visual diffs inside GitHub pull requests.
From the same board source you can download PCB, schematic, and assembly images plus fabrication files, KiCad projects, DSN, JSON, and netlists. The homepage states the project is open source under MIT and that reference boards are ready to fork, including handhelds, smart switches, a Linux computer board, and motor drivers that were exported for standard fabrication and assembly.
Real user voices
User imrishabh18 reported that installing tscircuit still fails when npm is allowed but the JSCAD CDN host is blocked, because a transitive dependency chain still pulls a tarball from that CDN, and named the exact package versions involved.
